Manchester United have been handed a significant double injury boost ahead of a string of crucial matches. Manager Ruben Amorim most recently confirmed that Luke Shaw and Mason Mount are nearing their return from injury.

United’s first-choice left-back Luke Shaw has remained out for the majority of the season, making just three appearances. He played two matches under Ruben Amorim, before sustaining another muscular injury. Shaw has missed an astonishing 97 matches in the last two seasons.

Mason Mount was later dropped by former manager Erik ten Hag, owing to his poor display. Ruben Amorim brought the 26-year-old back into the fold, but he picked up a thigh injury in December. In their absence, the Red Devils won just five out of their last 13 matches. Amorim gave an update about their return.

Garnacho has not been in United’s plans since Amorim took charge. He has started just five games under Amorim despite remaining the club’s top scorer with eight goals. Amid uncertainty, the Portuguese boss recently urged Garnacho to learn to play in different positions, and expressed hope for the forward to play a massive role at the club in the future. He revealed that Garnacho has improved in training.

That is clear. He has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position. He needs to play better inside… He’s finding the best way to play in this system. He’s improving during training.
