Manchester United have been handed a significant double injury boost ahead of a string of crucial matches. Manager Ruben Amorim most recently confirmed that Luke Shaw and Mason Mount are nearing their return from injury.
United’s first-choice left-back Luke Shaw has remained out for the majority of the season, making just three appearances. The 29-year-old has struggled to remain fit, and missed 20 matches at the start of the season before returning in November. He played two matches under Ruben Amorim, before sustaining another muscular injury. Shaw has missed an astonishing 97 matches in the last two seasons.
Mason Mount was later dropped by former manager Erik ten Hag, owing to his poor display. Ruben Amorim brought the 26-year-old back into the fold, but he picked up a thigh injury in December. In their absence, the Red Devils won just five out of their last 13 matches. Amorim gave an update about their return.

Luke Shaw’s impending return could have an impact on Man Utd’s transfer plans. The club had previously intended to sign a left wing-back in order to sustain with Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. However, with Shaw’s return, the pursuit of a new left-back can be placed on the back-burner.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim send ‘clear’ message to Alejandro Garnacho after exit rumors
Ruben Amorim recently exclaimed that young Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho could have a bright future at the club. It comes amid speculations that Serie A side Napoli are working on a deal to sign the 20-year-old forward.
Garnacho has not been in United’s plans since Amorim took charge. He has started just five games under Amorim despite remaining the club’s top scorer with eight goals. Amid uncertainty, the Portuguese boss recently urged Garnacho to learn to play in different positions, and expressed hope for the forward to play a massive role at the club in the future. He revealed that Garnacho has improved in training.
Napoli are considering the 20-year-old as a replacement for PSG-bound Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Italian side is reportedly willing to offer a transfer fee of around £40 million for the Manchester United forward. However, the Red Devils wants somewhere near £60 million.
