Florentino Perez‘s Real Madrid do not want to sign Portuguese defender Antonio Silva in the summer transfer window of 2025. The defender might be involved in a €75 million move to Manchester United. Spanish newspaper Defensa Central has reported that Los Blancos were in line for a move for Silva in the next summer. However, the reigning La Liga Champions don’t want to pay €75 million to sign the Portugal international.

Silva has attracted a lot of limelight and has been one of the best defenders in the last few years. His career started at CF Os Repesenses, and later he graduated from the youth academy of SL Benfica. The defender started playing for the first team in the 2022/23 season and since then has been a regular feature in the Portuguese club. However, his performances have gone down in the ongoing season, and he has also been in and out of the first team.

The Red Devils have also been keeping tabs on the defender for a long time. They want to replace Victor Lindelof and want a top-tier centre-back in their club. Moreover, they are ready to break their bank for Silva’s signing. With Real Madrid moving away from the deal, United have a clear shot at getting him in the summer transfer window.

Silva is a good ball-playing defender as well. He has good short-passing and long-passing accuracy. Moreover, he adds a physical presence to the game. Silva has a good idea about his positional awareness, and reads the defensive situations very well. He is adept in the air, contributing to his team’s defence in set-piece situations and during open play. Silva is also very composed on the ball despite his young age.

It remains to be seen where Silva lands finally in the summer. Will Manchester United break the bank to sign Silva by paying €75 million? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, United continues to struggle this season; the team is currently 13th in the Premier League points table with 22 points in 16 games.
