UEFA Champions League: Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid Player Ratings as Atletico win 1-0 on the night and go through to the quarter finals with 2-1 aggregate
Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid: United hosted Atletico at Old Trafford in the 2nd Leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
First half was a competitive one as both the teams came into the match level. Renan Lodi made the difference on the night as he scored a header to give advantage to the away team later in the first half. Atletico defended well in the 2nd half and kept a clean sheet which was enough for them to progress to the next round.

David de Gea (7/10): de Gea made a cracking save off a Rodrigo de Paul’s shot in the first half, but let in only goal of the match.
Diogo Dalot (7.1/10): Dalot went forward when needed and looked pretty decent in defence as well.
Raphael Varane (7.3/10): Varane was as usual good in the back line and did well in 1v1 situations, keeping the ball out of danger for a large part of the match.
Harry Maguire (7.2/10): The skipper had a good game till he was replaced by Juan Mata late in the second half to put in attacking options on the pitch.
Alex Telles (8/10): Telles was amazing on the left flank. He won 13 duels in the match- the most of any player.
Scott McTominay (6.8/10): McTominay had a decent game in the midfield. He was replaced by Nemanja Matic in the second half.
Fred (7/10): Fred recovered the ball in the middle when not in possession, but his distribution could have been better.
Jadon Sancho (7.1/10): Sancho made a few runs on the flank and dribbled past defenders 5 times- the most for any player.
Bruno Fernandes (6.4/10): Fernandes did not show up in the game. His passing accuracy was below par for his standards.
Anthony Elanga (6/10): Elanga was ineffective in the front. He just had a single shot on target which was saved by Oblak.
Cristiano Ronaldo (6.7/10): Ronaldo tried to create something but Atletico’s defence was too strong to take a shot, as he had none.
Substitutes:
Marcus Rashford (6.1/10): Rashford replaced the youngster Elanga, but he was as ineffective as the Swedish forward.
Nemanja Matic (6.4/10): Matic stabilised the midfield and tried widening the wings by passing to the flanks but he was not successful.
Paul Pogba (5.8/10): Manchester’s Pogba had no impact on the game coming on for Fernandes.

Jan Oblak (8.5/10): Oblak made 5 stunning saves and kept a well-deserved clean sheet to push his team to the quarters.
Jose Gimenez (7.3/10): Gimenez had a very good game at the back line and maintained his line well to keep the forwards out of dangerous positions.
Stefan Savic (7.4/10): Savic marked Ronaldo exceptionally and did not allow the marksman to make his presence felt in the game.
Reinildo (7.2/10): The Mozambique international was solid at the back and contributed to the clean sheet.
Marcos Llorente (7.2/10): The right wing-back made good runs on the flank. But his main contribution came in defence.
Koke (7.3/10): Koke was brilliant in the midfield as he imposed himself and distributed the ball extremely well in the midfield.
Hector Herrera (7.6/10): Herrera recovered the ball when not in possession and pressed hard in the midfield to bolster the attack.
Rodrigo de Paul (7.2/10): de Paul hit a scorching shot in the first half which was saved. His work rate was absolutely appreciable.
Renan Lodi (8.2/10): Lodi hit the deciding goal of the tie and was absolutely amazing on the left flank putting in crosses and defending with his everything.
Joao Felix (6.6/10): Felix had a decent game before being replaced by Angel Correa in the dying minutes of the match.
Antoine Griezmann (8.2/10): Griezmann provided a wonderful cross for Lodi to head home the winner. He made key passes and distributed the ball well.
