Manchester City need to wait further for regaining the Premier League this season
Manchester City still require 3 points from their remaining three fixtures provided Manchester United can keep up their winning run in the next couple of matches.
United are still to face Liverpool and Leicester and a defeat in any one of those matches would give their rivals the trophy.
Manchester United have started their hectic schedule which includes playing 3 matches in 5 days with a victory. Bruno Fernandes notched up his 27th goal of the season converting his penalty in the 52nd minute of the match.
Mason Greenwood scored United’s second 4 minutes later with a brilliant solo effort to give them the lead.
Edinson Cavani then continued his goal scoring form and put the result beyond doubt in the 87th minute with a pin-point header.
Although, the win was slightly marred by the injury which Harry Maguire sustained in the final minutes and might be a doubt for the Euros this season.
