Tensions flared in Game 2 between the San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers as both teams engaged in NSFW words throughout the game. On Saturday, the Dodgers won 7-5 over the Padres, but the latter overturned the game with a 10-2 record on Sunday.

Not only did the Padres win the game, but they also blasted six home runs to set a franchise record and tie a postseason record. On the other hand, the Dodgers showcased one of their weakest plays, with offensive issues on the field.

Plus, the Dodgers fans did not welcome the Padres in a positive way. They threw objects and even beer cans at the Padres players, causing the game to pause with security involvement. Tensions were high on the field, and things weren’t any better between the players.

Padres baseman Manny Machado and Dodgers pitcher Jack Flaherty have quite a bout amidst the game involving San Diego star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. The two players jawed at each other after the shortstop was hit by a pitch.

Machado believes it was an intentional move from Flaherty, and even said how their team would’ve tried to get Shohei Ohtani out instead of throwing at him intentionally. However, Flaherty denied all accusations, saying it was simply a mistake and a means to hurt anybody.

He tried to hit our best hitter. If you can’t get him out, don’t hit him, right? Ohtani? We don’t go out there and try to hit Ohtani. We try to get him out.

Jack Flaherty denying the accusation said,

Look, I missed in the first inning and I threw the ball over the middle. I wasn’t going to miss over the plate again. I have no reason to hit a guy there to start off the sixth. I’m going in for effect, and he didn’t get out of the way and it hit him.

They continued chirping at each other throughout the game, especially after the strikeout in the sixth inning. The pitcher shouted, “sit the f*** down, m*****f*****”, following the strike.

Fernando Tatis Jr. comments on being hit by pitch

The whole fiasco between Manny Machado and Jack Flaherty seemed to stem from Fernando Tatis Jr. getting hit by the pitch in the sixth inning. Later the shortstop reacted to the incident saying, that no one should intentionally hurt a player, especially in important games like the playoffs.

Tatis seemed clearly unhappy about the whole situation and retaliated saying they can’t wait to bring the series back to their fans in San Diego after the 10-2 win. He further added how the incident fired him up even more.

There’s too much of an important series just to be throwing at guys. That’s what I understand. That’s what my IQ of baseball is telling me. When he hit me, he just gave me more energy. My boys gave me more energy.

Despite getting hit, Tatis blasted two homers in the game against the Dodgers, boosting the team in the NLDS series. They are now 1-1 tied with their rivals. Game 3 will be held on Tuesday, and the tensed flares are expected to rise once again in their faceoff.
