‘Manny Pacquiao will be tougher than Floyd Mayweather for Conor McGregor’ says Bas Rutten
The former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor gave the world a show to watch when he fought the boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather. This fight was one of the biggest events of MMA history, as both of them presented a great show for the crowd, Mayweather although won the fight against Conor but ‘The Notorious’ fought really hard in his boxing debut.
Conor is making his comeback in the Octagon against Dustin Poirier; this fight has been officially booked for UFC 257 main event. After this fight, Conor will fight one more boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao. The former UFC Heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer Bas Rutten thinks that Pacquiao is going to be tougher for Conor than Mayweather.
He says, “Pacquiao is a different kind of guy than Mayweather, I mean, he is a very explosive guy, so he is going to be a tougher fight for McGregor than Mayweather, that’s what I think.”
“The movement of Pacquiao, that in and out movement, that hyper super explosive power, is going to be much more difficult to deal with than it was with Mayweather, who starts slowly and reads his opponent”
“Mayweather lets himself get punched, but then figures out where his opponent is and slowly goes in for the kill, he is very methodical. Pacquiao doesn’t have that; everything he hits is hard. So if he can impose his style, it could be it.”
Bas Rutten think Manny is fastest opponent that Conor has ever faced
Many people believe that Jose Aldo was the fastest opponent Conor has faced but ‘The Notorious’ knocked out Aldo in just 13 seconds. But Rutten says Pacquiao is going to be like something Conor has never faced.
He says, “Manny is not going to be like Jose Aldo walking in a daddy-gonna-get-it behavior, because he has been doing this boxing thing for a long time. He is going to be in and out, in and out and really, really fast”
“And McGregor knows that, trust me. They can all say, ‘I don’t think McGregor’s boxing is good.’ Well, he went eight rounds with arguably one of the best boxers on the planet, right? For a guy who had never had a professional boxing match to do that, I was super impressed.”
