Manuel Neuer: UEFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the year


Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer won the Goalkeeper of the Season award for the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League. The German goalkeeper was presented with the award in the award function conducted by UEFA yesterday at Geneva, Switzerland.
Manuel Neuer had an amazing season with the Champions of Europe. Neuer led Bayern to treble win as they won the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup and also the super cup. The 34-year-old Neuer delivered some amazing performances especially in the Lisbon Finals.

55 journalists who represented each of the UEFA’s member associations along with managers of clubs who were a part of the relevant group stage of UCL and UEL casted their votes. The nominees ranked in the following order after the voting process:
- Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) – 376 points
- Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid) – 92 points
- Keylor Navas (Paris Saint Germain) – 89 points
Manuel Neur’s 2019/20 season
Manuel Neuer won the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup and the Super Cup. He was also a part of the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season. Neuer also won the Bundesliga Golden Glove.

Manuel Neuer made 11 appearances in the UEFA Champions League 2019/20. He kept six clean sheets and conceded just eight goals. The German made 33 appearances in Bundesliga and kept 15 clean sheets.
Manuel Neuer gave a stellar performance in the UCL final against Paris Saint Germain. He made some great saves which helped Bayern Munich lift the UCL trophy. Speaking on the quality of Manuel Neuer, Paris Saint Germain coach Thomas Tuchel said, “His quality was unbelievable against us in the UEFA Champions League final. His performance was kind of a distortion of competition. He has taken goalkeeping to new heights.”
