There are complications relating to Covid-19 regulations if Marcelo carries out his polling duties. All Spanish nationals on the electoral register are liable to be called up to work at polling stations, for which they are paid 65 euros ($72), and require mitigating circumstances to be excused.

Real are looking for an exemption to the rule for the Brazilian left-back but reports in the media suggest that the request can be denied by the Electoral board. Although, Ferland Mendy will most definitely be used as the first choice left-back for the match Zidane would now miss his backup.
