According to reports Alonso had major falling out with manager Frank Lampard and got into a big fight. Ben Chilwell was always Frank Lampard’s favourite and hence started ahead of Alonso once he returned from injury.

However Thomas Tuchel likes to play a left wing back instead of a traditional left back position. This is where Marcos Alonso edges out Ben Chilwell who was substituted in the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. There’sreal possibility that Ben Chilwell will find himself out of the side with the rise of Marcos Alonso now and his goal scoring threat.

“A lot of things have been said out there but I like to work, be quiet and talk on the pitch so that was for the fans. It’s good to get the reward and hopefully there will be more to come.

“It was good to help the team with a goal but I’m just delighted for the three points and very happy for the team. We need to get back to the top, or as close to the top as possible, and today was a good start.”
