Marcus Rashford’s 20-year-long association with Manchester United might come to an end after the forward most recently spoke about his future at the club. The 27-year-old English star revealed that he is seeking a new challenge away from Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford started out as a seven-year-old at the Manchester United academy and went on to achieve milestones for the club. In his 426 appearances for the first team, Rashford has scored 138 goals and provided 64 assists. However, he finds himself out of favor at the club after being omitted by new manager Ruben Amorim, owing to his attitude and behavior.

His poor form and massive £365k-per-week wages have led to the Red Devils reportedly being willing to offload him during the next transfer window. After being sent home from United’s Carrington training ground due to illness this week, the 27-year-old opened up about his future at the club.

Speaking to Henry Winter in a recent interview, the English forward expressed his desire to take up a new challenge while hinting toward his exit. Rashford urged that he would not leave United on a bad note. Pointing to how some other players had departed the club after struggling during their final days, he stated that he would make a clear statement prior to his exit.

For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.

Rashford’s underwhelming performances last season also led to England manager Gareth Southgate leaving him out of the squad for the 2024 Euros. He still has three years left on his contract at the club, and it remains to be seen if any other club offers him a deal that suits his demands.

Ruben Amorim suggests Manchester United are ‘better’ with Marcus Ransford amid exit rumors

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted that the team is better with Marcus Rashford in the squad. This comes after the 27-year-old’s recent revelation that he could depart United in order to take up a new challenge, owing to his poor form and lack of playing time.

Rashford’s last EPL start was against Everton, where he scored twice in a 4-0 victory. He was later dropped for the match against Manchester City, alongside Alejandro Garnacho. Amid rumors of a rift with the forward, Amorim suggested that the club needs a talented striker who has come through the academy ranks. Moreover, he urged Rashford to keep performing at the highest level and regain his lost form.

Of course, because this kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.

However, despite his admission, Amorim failed to confirm whether the 27-year-old would feature in the starting XI in the upcoming matches. Rashford has been having a dry patch himself and has scored just seven goals this season.
