Marcus Rashford, of all people, deserved to lift the FA Cup trophy on Saturday night. The packed crowd at Wembley Stadium was witness to a heartwarming moment as Rashford shed tears of joy upon winning the title. After pushing through stop-start form and unfortunate injuries, Rashford finally had his moment as United beat City 2-1 in the final.
The player started in midfield behind Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. His exquisite pass from way inside his own half played a crucial role in the build-up to United’s second goal of the game.

The No.10 was eventually subbed off in the 74th minute for Rasmus Hojlund. Despite not scoring ‘two goals’ in the final like Andre Onana wished for, it was difficult not to be happy for the forward.
His tears of joy immediately went viral on social media, with fans claiming that it was poetic justice that he won a title days after being left out of the England squad for the 2024 Euros.
Rashford nearly scored his side’s second goal of the game, but was stripped of the same after a VAR check found his teammate in an offside position.
Marcus Rashford sends strong message after enduring difficult season with Man United
The 2-1 win against Man City in the FA Cup final was a much-needed respite for the Red Devils after a disastrous campaign in the League. The Red Devils struggled to pick up momentum throughout the season and eventually fell to an all-time low of eighth spot towards the end. On top of poor form and embarrassing results, main man Marcus Rashford was forced to miss out on a significant chunk of games due to injury.

The No.10 was constantly targeted with criticism and sometimes even abuse. The forward publicly exclaimed that it needed to stop on multiple occasions as well.
Following the win, Rashford took to social media to post a picture of him in tears after the full-time whistle. The caption was a clear message to all those who doubted him, as it read “People want to know what Man Utd means to me!“
While many proclaimed that Rashford is here to stay after his performance on Saturday, others felt that his time was up with the Red Devils. Following the game, Rashford celebrated with his teammates, popping champagne and dancing around in the locker room.
The forward also met with YouTuber IShowSpeed after the game. After yesterday’s performance against City, it is safe to say that Ten Hag’s faith in the player was justified.
