LeBron James and Mario Chalmers shared the court in Miami

The Miami Heat were one of the best sides in the 2010s era, possessing the likes of the famous “Big 3” in LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosch. Many NBA fans believe that the Heat were built around these three players. However, former Heat star Mario Chalmers disagrees. On the OGs podcast, Chalmer shared his views on which player the Heat was built around.

On the show, Chalmers claimed that the Heat team was built around him, which let everyone alongside him burst out in laughter. Chalmers also added proof to his claim, asserting that he was the only person signed on the Heat title winning team before the formation of the “Big 3.”

So the thing about that (Miami Heat building their squad) was I was the only person signed on the Heat, like there was nobody else out there. So they built the team around me.

Interestingly, not many in and around the NBA would agree with Chalmers on this particular take, especially with the likes of James and Wade’s name being involved.

The Miami Heat have not been performing up to their standards over the last few seasons in the NBA. Despite possessing star players in Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro, they just don’t seem to click. It remains to be seen how the Heat will perform in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.

Mario Chalmers once opened up on infamous fight with LeBron James

Former Miami Heat stars Mario Chalmers and LeBron James were once involved in a battle of words during a particular Heat match against the Indiana Pacers, with Chalmers calling James a “bi**h” and James taking offense to it.

However, earlier this year on the Run It Back TV, Chalmers made things clear regarding the infamous fight between the two stars, claiming the fight was resolved later.

I mean, that's what friends do. No, it never got worse. No, actually it got better after that. We talked about it, organization made us talk about it and just make sure everything was smooth. It didn't go past that.
