Minority owner Mark Cuban might not have any power over what the Dallas Mavericks do with their players, but he still has a voice, and he wants to use it for the right purposes.

His partners, and the majority owner of the Mavs, the Adelson family, chose to disregard his opinion and traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since then, the billionaire has reiterated that he does not have control over day-to-day operations with the team that he once steered to become one of the best franchises in the NBA. One of the most talked about decisions the current Donald Trump administration has taken is the new tariffs it has imposed on imports. Another decision that the President took recently caught his attention.

The decision he is referring to is when Donald Trump negotiated a deal with Nvidia and AMD wherein they would share 15% of the AI GPUs they sell to China with the government. This way, the two companies can resume sales of GPUs, which Trump had stopped earlier this year.

Mark Cuban mocks both sides

Mark Cuban is not one to openly support President Donald Trump. He has been one of the most vocal critics of the 47th President and his agenda throughout the election campaign.

At the same time, he is not too happy with the way the Democratic Party has been operating ever since the elections were over. This post on X was his way to take a swing at both sides, but at the same time, sarcastically dissing them.

He knows what Trump is doing is not right, as it could end up becoming a burden that could trickle down to consumers. However, he also knows that the Democratic Party cannot take such decisions without the fear of facing backlash.

Mark Cuban essentially wants the left to realize that their earlier policies have led the country to this junction. The United States needed strong governance, and even if his methods are sparking criticism, Donald Trump is making decisions that will have a long-term impact on the country.

Mark Cuban knows these decisions could impact his low-cost drugs company, as well as other smaller companies that may not have the leverage to absorb these commissions.

Thankfully, the Dallas Mavericks do not export their products, and will not be taxed in the manner that Nvidia and AMD are going to be. Therefore, the franchise can focus on paying its players what they deserve and hope that it all leads them to success.

Even though he was not in favor of their decision to let go of Luka Doncic, he is excited for what Cooper Flagg will bring to his team. They get another franchise cornerstone, who can help continue his mantra of being one of the most competitive teams in the NBA.

Maybe this upcoming season, the Mavs can help Mark Cuban become a two-time champion team owner. They have the players to do the job and are widely considered to be the team that can dethrone the Oklahoma City Thunder from their perch.
