Bill Gates, Luka Doncic and Mark Cuban
Late Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers decided to trade star guard Luka Doncic for star big man Anthony Davis, sending the basketball world into a frenzy. Many in the game were taken aback and initially thought the transfer was fraudulent. However, the NBA had been completely upended, and it was entirely true. Notably, the Mavs’ shareholder and former owner, Mark Cuban was particularly; left upset with this deal.
The decision to trade the franchise kingpin left Cuban “confused.” The billionaire has had faith in the Slovenian guard for a long time. Additionally, he recently acknowledged more difficulties during a gathering with the former World’s Richest Man Bill Gates. Cuban made a unique comment that had a slight ‘Microsoft analogy’ to it regarding Doncic.
I gotta tell you (Bill Gates), I’ve had a rough week… If after you left Microsoft, you found out that Steve Ballmer traded Windows 11 — like, the new hot operating system — for Windows 10, the Hall-of-Fame but older operating system, what would you do?

In such a scenario, the 69-year-old millionaire said he would have to “hide from people.” Due to fan outrage over the trade of its young superstar, the Mavericks organization is today also covered in disappointment. Their only wish at this point was that Cuban should have held the majority of the business.
Doncic was more than just a franchise-changing star in Cuban’s eyes. He believed that, in terms of skill, he was superior to Dirk Nowitzki, the legendary player for the Mavericks. The former Mavs owner fell in love with him back when he was at Real Madrid.
NOT the first time Mark Cuban opened up regarding Luka Doncic trade
Mark Cuban is known for his outspoken nature in and around the NBA, especially if the topic is regarding the Dallas Mavericks or its players. After Luka Doncic was traded, Cuban did have his say. Interestingly, former Maverick, Chandler Parsons disclosed that he texted Cuban after the deal. This was during an appearance on Run It Back TV, where the former majority owner expressed the same ‘shock’ as everyone else.
I texted [Mark Cuban], and I said, ‘I’m so confused.’ He wrote back, ‘That makes two of us.’

Ever since Doncic joined the Mavericks years ago, Cuban has been a huge fan. Cuban even declared that he would rather Doncic remain in Dallas than divorce his wife. Although this was mentioned years ago, the statement has come up several times since Doncic was traded. Notably, not just for this season but also for the upcoming ten years, the Lakers’ purchase of Doncic has completely altered the NBA landscape.
