Mark Davis takes Maxx Crosby, whom the Lions badly wanted, off the trade market

Mark Davis loves Maxx Crosby way too much to let him go elsewhere, which is why he blocked any trade deals for the edge rusher.

Mark Davis put an end to Maxx Crosby’s trade rumors once and for all. The Las Vegas Raiders owner has no intentions of letting the star edge rusher leave.

There are less than two weeks left until the NFL trade deadline closes, and all the rosters will be locked until the end of the current campaign. Several teams showed interest in Crosby’s services; however, Davis, who is a massive admirer of the multiple-time Pro Bowler, isn’t ready to give up on him just yet, even though his team sits with a 2-5 record after seven weeks of football.

Davis reportedly sent an email to ESPN revealing that Crosby is not available for any trade.

We’re Not Trading Maxx Crosby [Whether] Before Or After The Trade Deadline!!!”

This will break the hearts of the Detroit natives. They were hoping to see the return of one of their favorite sons. The Lions were actively trying to get him after losing sack specialist Aidan Hutchinson to a season-ending injury.

Now, they have to divert their attention to Cleveland’s former Pro Bowl defensive end Za’Darius Smith, who was No. 2 on the list of candidates shortlisted to replace Hutchinson.

Maxx Crosby never wanted to leave the Raiders

Due to the lack of success in recent years, many predicted that most of the Raiders’ big-name players would end up joining teams that have a better chance of winning some silverware. All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams left to join the Jets just a couple of weeks ago, and Crosby may have followed him out of Vegas.

His cryptic comments from the Raiders locker room stirred up trade rumors, enticing the Lions fans.

I’m not here to rebuild, I’m here to win. So, you know, I don’t know. Whatever that means, but yeah I’m here to win now. And wherever I’m gonna be, I’m gonna here to win. So that’s all that matters to me.

However, the 27-year-old has always remained adamant that his heart is set on staying with the Raiders. During a recent episode of The Rush podcast, Crosby cleared this.

I’m sitting here innocently doing what I do. I feel like I have to address it with my teammatesI know it’s a business, I know I don’t have 100 percent control, but I want to be here, I want to be in silver and black. I’ll say it loud and clear: I want to be a Raider. Just seeing all the craziness, it’s been f***ing insane. What the f**k has this turned into?

Crosby is among the few veteran heads still left on the Raiders roster. With 7x Super Bowl winner Tom Brady taking over as one of the owners, fans of the iconic franchise should expect to see their fortunes turn in the future.
