“Punk Really Could’ve Gotten Hurt”- WWE Legend Upset with Seth Rollins’ Faction Members Jeopardizing CM Punk’s Health at Night of Champions
At Night of Champions, CM Punk's body went through a lot apart from just focusing on John Cena. The former AEW star was close to getting his back messed up at one point.

CM Punk wrestled John Cena for quite possibly the last time at Night of Champions 2025 in Riyadh. ‘The Second City’ Saint made his Saudi Arabia wrestling debut while doing so, but couldn’t take the Undisputed WWE title off his great rival in an almost half-hour stretch. The later phases of the match were shenanigans-heavy as Seth Rollins contemplated cashing in his Money in the Bank contract.
Reviewing the entire match staged in Riyadh, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry singled out an ugly moment that could’ve left Punk badly injured. Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Henry noted how Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed miscued with their timing while putting a down-and-out Punk through the table at ringside.
When you’re in the ring, or outside, or wherever, there’s never a rush, so much that you…rush something where somebody could’ve gotten hurt, because Punk really could’ve gotten hurt when they both put him through the table.

The former ‘World’s Strongest Man’ believes that Rollins’ lackeys could’ve taken their time to execute the spot. Moreover, the former World Heavyweight Champion said that he’s not a fan of Rollins’ trio. Henry quipped that WWE has made Breakker and Reed look like nothing more than some relegated bodyguards to ‘The Visionary’.
Also, the fact that the company hasn’t come up with an official name for the faction doesn’t help the cause either, even though it’s reportedly in the cards, as per a BodySlam report. Henry didn’t like the fact that WWE gave too much time to let Rollins and his men take over what should’ve been more of Punk vs. Cena, especially if that was their last dance. But despite losing, did the former WWE Champion win in the grand scheme of things? It seems so.
What else did CM Punk achieve in Saudi Arabia?
CM Punk didn’t have the best of arrivals on Saudi Arabian soil. At first, a video of him refusing a small kid for a simple photograph made the rounds on the internet. The former AEW star was brutally trolled by the netizens based on that short clip. Then, the locals booed him during the Night of Champions kickoff show.

An individual in the front row grabbed Punk’s attention and asked him to apologize for one of the posts he made in January 2020 targeting Saudi Arabia. ‘The Best in the World’ sincerely owned up to his mistake and was sorry for his past actions. The crowd quickly switched in Punk’s favor as soon as he made amends for his “blood money” rant about The Miz.
Afterward, WWE CCO Triple H expressed gratitude for the kind of person Punk has grown into. As per Fightful, there was no pressure on ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ from WWE’s side to apologize to the people of Saudi Arabia. However, he somewhat knew that he might have to address the elephant in the room eventually. Now that it’s all said and done, one could say that Punk didn’t return from Riyadh empty-handed, as he won over an entire fanbase.
CM Punk remembers the 13th anniversary of AJ Lee kissing him on WWE television
On the July 3, 2012, edition of SmackDown, AJ Lee infamously kissed CM Punk after having done the same to Daniel Bryan during the same segment. It marked a significant shift in the on-screen dynamics between Lee and Punk, and they’d go on to eventually marry each other in 2014.

‘The Second City Saint’ recently posted a screengrab of making out with Lee on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “13 years ago my best friend did this to me, and I married her.” Since Punk came back to WWE, the fans haven’t lost hope that his wife will follow suit. In fact, there have been numerous instances of fans chanting her name during Punk’s segments.

They even got to Triple H during his promo at this year’s Royal Rumble kickoff show, but ‘The Game’ didn’t acknowledge it. Everyone thought that the former Divas Champion would appear as a surprise entrant in the 30-women Royal Rumble match. However, that didn’t happen. But the door isn’t closed for it just yet.
