Vegas Golden Knights’ star Mark Stone has once again come under the spotlight. In the game against the Dallas Stars, he collided with defenseman Miro Heiskanen which left him injured on the ice field.
In the past few seasons, the rivalry between the Golden Knights and the Stars have heated up. On top of that Stone, the Golden Knights captain, has been subject to some harsh criticism from the fans for his antics on the field.
During the Stanley Cup playoffs meeting between the two teams last season, Stone was heavily booed by the Stars fans. The 32-year-old has found himself in hot waters again after Heiskanen was forced to leave the field of play after he collided with Stone.
The incident took place in the third period with more than 12 minutes left to play. With the Stars 3-2 down at that point, they were trying to get back on level terms.
In this, Heiskanen would skate forward from the defensive zone. Stone meanwhile seemingly got tripped by Roope Hintz. He was unable to control himself and stumbled across Heiskanen, leaving him injured. The Stars man was later helped off the ice as he exited the game.

Heiskanen is one of the top members of the Stars’ defensive unit. He is one of the contenders for the Norris Trophy, awarded to the best defenseman. In the 2024-25 season he has picked up 25 points with 5 goals and 20 assists.
Despite this setback, the Stars kept on fighting and pulled level at 3-3 to take the game into overtime. Wyatt Johnston would later complete his hat trick mere 20 seconds into OT and win the game 4-3 for this team.
