MMA has gained widespread popularity in recent years. In a jaw-dropping revelation, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has gone public with his aspirations to compete in MMA, specifically under the bright UFC lights. The Meta CEO’s comments immediately sent shockwaves through combat sports circles.

Rumors suggested that Zuckerberg trained hard in preparation to compete in the octagon. As such, RP Nickson asked the Meta CEO about MMA in the hopes of getting a confirmation. Mark Zuckerberg revealed making his debut in MMA would happen sooner or later.

I wanted to do a competitive fight for quite some time but then I got injured… I still would have to do it at some point. I don't know, the thrill of competing is such a rush. I would love to do a competition, whether it is UFC or something else.

The 39-year-old’s elite wealth could theoretically make his wildest dreams become reality. His will to step into the octagon against hardened fighters showcased his focus and intent. He was also training with former UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. This training would definitely have provided him with some much-needed expertise on what it was like to fight in a real cage.

Furthermore, Zuckerberg is relatively fit and athletic based on his fondness for BJJ. There are also a lot more questions about Zuckerberg than answers to the MMA aspirations of the Meta CEO. The opponent, promotion, and timeline remain shrouded in mystery. As such, Zuckerberg’s MMA fight might not happen anytime soon.

Mark Zuckerberg builds an Octagon in his backyard

Mark Zuckerberg has been a constant in MMA circles for some time now. The Meta CEO recently revealed that he had constructed a full-size octagon in the backyard of one of his homes. This new construction is attributed to his newfound love of MMA.

Zuckerberg teased some sort of celebrity MMA battle with rival Elon Musk. UFC CEO Dana White had agreed to let this fight happen in the UFC. Both these billionaires had agreed, but the fight fell through. Zuckerberg had taken intense training for his fight and even won a BJJ competition. The octagon in his backyard may be one that he can train in for his potential MMA debut.

Back in 2023, the Meta CEO did rigorous jiu-jitsu training and MMA sessions multiple days a week. He also admitted that he ate 4,000 calories daily to continuously have the energy to expend. However, he injured his knee and the training halted. This, however, didn’t stop him as he continued his recovery to return to peak conditions.
