Ravens corner receives $45,000 fine for unflagged hit on Bills QB Josh Allen ahead of crucial Chiefs game

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey hates playing against quarterbacks with a big frame and yet nimble feet like Josh Allen. Humphrey will need to be even more cautious in the future because he picked up a hefty fine from the league on the Bills quarterback for a tackle that did not register a flag during their meeting in the divisional round game last week.
Tackles tend to feel a lot more in snowy conditions, and it was close to 18 degrees Fahrenheit in Buffalo. The Ravens finally began to show some life in the second quarter after the Bills scored back-to-back touchdowns early on through Allen and running back Ray Davis.
Right before the second quarter ended, and the ref was ready to blow the whistle for halftime, Marlon Humphrey stopped Allen from stealing a few cheeky yards, but illegally, as the referee penalized the 2x All-Pro for a late hit even though no flags were thrown. Humphrey escaped without much punishment until the league checked the tape and decided his tackle on Allen warranted a fine of $45,020.

Humphrey’s night wasn’t over. With the Ravens trailing the Bills 24-19 in the fourth quarter, the 28-year-old defensive back got steamrolled by Bills WR Mack Hollins, leaving him weak in his knees. The Ravens’ medical team tended to him, but he had to go off the field briefly to catch his breath.
Mack Hollins just pancaked Marlon Humphrey who remained down after the play.

Humphrey finished the game with 4 combined tackles with 2 solo, as the Ravens succumbed to a 25-27 loss. Josh Allen ended the game with 147 overall yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.
Josh Allen must prepare himself for Marlon Humphrey-esque challenges from Chiefs DBs
Humphrey may be out of the picture and perhaps out of Baltimore; who knows, but now Allen’s focus should shift to the Chiefs corners, who have been preparing for the Bills game as if it were a divisional rivalry.
Chiefs star DB Justin Reid played against Allen several times in his career, but the latest version of the Pro Bowler under Joe Brady’s supervision is a different kind of beast.
The Chiefs have concocted several methods to deter Allen on Sunday. Reid explained they must stop Allen from using his feet too much.
Reid praised Allen’s MVP-caliber performances all season, and he’s not wrong. Allen completed over 4200+ yards (passing and receiving yards combined), 42 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.
