- Marlon Humphrey publicly criticized teammate Kyle Hamilton in response to a fan's comment on Twitter.
- Hamilton recently shared news about former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum signing with the Raiders, raising eyebrows among fans.
- Kyle Hamilton signed a four-year, $100.4 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid safety in NFL history.
Cracks are starting to form in the Baltimore Ravens’ defense, and it’s not even April. On Monday, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey appeared to take shots at his teammate and safety Kyle Hamilton.
The situation escalated right after former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. Hamilton shared the news in the story section of his Instagram profile.
A fan (assuming they are a Ravens supporter) took a screenshot and uploaded it on X with the caption, “Sometimes I wonder if [Kyle] Hamilton hates the [Baltimore] Ravens. Guy shares this and the likely signings, but not a like, comment, or share in relation to the Crosby or other Ravens news. Maybe I’m overreacting, but it’s something I’ve noticed for a while now.” The fan even claimed that Humphrey had a role in John Harbaugh’s departure in January.
He was one of the ones that apparently wanted Harbaugh gone. He gets his wish and the same stuff continues. Just strange

Humphrey decided to respond to the tweet. “You’re not overreacting. He’s exactly who you think he is!! I know him personally..!”

Linderbaum signed with the Raiders on a three-year deal worth $27 million/year. Tight end Isaiah Likely signed a three-year, $40 million contract with upside to $47.5 million.
Before that, the Ravens sent two first-round draft picks (2026 and 2027) to the Raiders in exchange for All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby. General manager Eric DeCosta also brought back guard John Simpson on a three-year, $30 million deal.

Is Kyle Hamilton the highest-paid safety in the NFL?
Hamilton was among the top-rated free safeties coming out of college. The Ravens drafted him 14th overall in 2022, sandwiched between Eagles DT Jordan Davis and Texans guard Kenyon Green. Hamilton played together with Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey at Notre Dame. Aubrey’s new deal will make him the highest-earning kicker in history, taking him above the Chiefs’ Harrison Butker.

Hamilton has already accomplished the feat of becoming the highest-paid athlete in his position. Three seasons, two First-Team All-Pro honors, and a couple of Pro Bowl selections later, the Ravens decided to exercise his fifth-year option. Before the 2025 season, the Ravens signed Kyle Hamilton to a four-year, $100.4 million contract extension, with $82 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid safety in NFL history.
The $25.1 million average annual value on the deal also pushes Hamilton past the Detroit Lions’ S Kerby Joseph ($21.25 million) for tops in the NFL.
I think the deal really does speak to how we feel about Kyle. The highest-paid safety in the NFL … that’s a responsibility that we don’t take lightly.
DeCosta told Jamison Hensley of ESPN
During the 2025 season, Hamilton played games, racking up 105 combined tackles (two fewer than his best numbers), 7 tackles for loss, 9 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and one sack.
Despite their stats, the Ravens had the third-worst pass defense in the league, giving up an average of 247.9 yards per game and 23 touchdowns. Baltimore finished 8-9 after losing to the Steelers on the final day of the season. The defeat cost them a place in the playoffs.
