UFC on ABC 7 is just a cycle away from taking shape in Abu Dhabi. The stacked event goes down soon from inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With the early (and official) weigh-ins already in the books, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera embraced gulf spirits well in a ceremonial staredown with Deiveson Figueiredo.

It marked the final stop before the UFC Abu Dhabi card tomorrow. Namesake fighters Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov fight at the top bill for a pivotal bantamweight fight. Two fights down, veteran Marlon Vera keeps some fiesty plans for Deiveson Figueiredo as he starts his rebuilding process to the top. To that end, ‘Chito’ came with fashion and function!

All 26 fighters were back onstage for the ceremonial festivities and one last stardown, popping off live. The weigh-in caught the 32-year-old Ecuadorian approach Figgy in a full ‘Habibi’ cloth set! ‘God of War’ was unfazed with a fist pointed at him. Vera, in a loose-fitting white robe and a turban fashioned in Arabic spirit, had hands behind his back, glaring with resolve. Check out the full snippet down below.

The pressure test remains massive for both. Vera was a title challenger not long ago. He incurred a hard-hitting violent decision loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 299. Hence, this is a step forward to rev up again. Consequently, he could mark that sweet win for #6 Figgy, which pushes him to a title opportunity. As such, both are primed for this matchup.

Marlon Vera and others make weight ahead of UFC Abu Dhabi event, ready for war

Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov had their final pre-fight meeting at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins. Ahead of their UFC on ABC 7, co-mains Shara Magomedov and Michal Oleksiejczuk also had one last staredown at each other. Marlon Vera and Deiveson Figueiredo also shared one last look; they later shook on it as they gear up for one day before their matchup.

UFC on ABC 7 ceremonial fighter weigh-ins commenced at 10 a.m. ET (7 a.m. PT). The weigh-ins happened at the Etihad Arena in Yas Island, the venue for Saturday’s matchups. All fighters successfully scaled in. Here’s how the main card weighed in on Friday.

135 lbs.: Sandhagen (136) vs. Umar Nurmagomedov (135) main event is a go.
185 lbs.: Subsequently, Magomedov (186) vs. Oleksiejczuk (185) weighed in properly as well.
135 lbs.: Vera (136) vs. Figueiredo (135.5) are also set.
170 lbs.: Tony Ferguson (170) vs. Michael Chiesa (170) weighed in thereafter as well.
115 lbs.: Mackenzie Dern (115) vs. Loopy Godinez (115.5) are set for an interesting matchup
155 lbs.: Joel Alvarez (155.5) vs. Elves Brener (155) end the main card.

Shara Magomedov is filling in for the scrapped co-main event between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque. Consequently, it sent everyone into a frenzy after UFC 303’s multiple pullouts. However, all fighters have weighed in without a snafu. Team RVCA MMA’s ‘Chito’ is ready for battle.
