The Kansas City Chiefs struggled immensely with their receiving squad last season despite winning the Super Bowl trophy. Hence their prime goal for this season was to add more offensive weapons to the roster. One of them was Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, with whom quarterback Patrick Mahomes had begun training before the preseason to build chemistry until he injured himself in the preseason.

The star wide receiver, who’s recovering from a sternoclavicular joint injury, couldn’t get a chance to make his debut with the Chiefs this season. But the good news is it appears that Brown wouldn’t have to wait too long and may join the starting lineup in the playoffs.

Ahead of the upcoming matchup against the Cleveland Brown, the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave a much-needed update on Hollywood’s injury, assuring fans that he will step on the field very soon. Although he did not mention any specific dates, he seemed quite positive about the return.

He’s getting close. He’s champing at the bit to get back out there, but he’s got to visit with the doctor to make sure he gets clearance there.

The wide receiver is scheduled for a medical clearance in Week 15 and if he does get it, he would be ready to return even before the postseason. For now, his status remains uncertain while the Chiefs prepare for their Week 15 matchup.

Chiefs insider predicts Marquise Hollywood Brown’s return in Week 15

While head coach Reid hasn’t given any dates, The Athletic’s Chiefs Insider Nate Taylor claimed that the wide receiver is expected to return in Week 15. Although it’s not confirmed whether the Chiefs would take a risk before the postseason with Hollywood, he may return to the practice very soon.

Hollywood Brown’s season started on Sunday. And the reason I say this is, he is expected to be practicing this week.

Nate Taylor reported on October 10

Even if he starts joining the team practices this week, it’s unlikely for them to push the wideout on the field. He will be given a 21-day window to return the IR. He is recovering from the surgery for his sternoclavicular joint and mandated a long rehab which makes it uncertain to confirm his status until the medical clearance has been provided.
