Seahawks and Raiders fans flocked to Lumen Field to witness the debuts of Ashton Jeanty, Jalen Milroe, and several other rookies, but no one expected to see one of their favorite sons in a different avatar. Retired NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, who played for both teams during his NFL career, stood on the sidelines with the crew of photographers.
Lynch held a big camera in his two hands and took pictures of the game. He even experienced a welcome-to-sports-photography moment as well.
Near the end of the first quarter, Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock handed a pass to second-year running back George Holani, who sidestepped the defensive line and dove into the red zone to give his team the lead.
Holani bumped into photographer Lynch, and the 39-year-old instinctively elbowed his young counterpart to save the expensive camera. Holani missed a great chance to interact with Lynch because he left to celebrate with his teammates.

Marshawn Lynch, the Beast Mode
Lynch stayed in that spot for a while, took pictures, and FaceTimed former Seahawk Michael Bennett, who was in the broadcast booth. During the halftime break, Lynch joined Bennett in the booth.

Marshawn Lynch played eight seasons in Seattle and two with the Raiders when they were located in Oakland, but started his career with the Buffalo Bills. He appeared in a total of 149 games, rushing 2435 times for 10,413 yards and 85 rushing touchdowns, along with 287 receptions for 2214 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. During the Seahawks’ Super Bowl-winning campaign (2013), Lynch ran for 1257 yards from 301 carries for 12 rushing touchdowns.
Fans received a big surprise earlier in the year when Lynch dropped by at the Raiders’ facility to welcome his former boss, Pete Carroll, as the new head coach of the AFC West franchise.

Raiders and Seahawks play out a draw
It was a homecoming for both coach Caroll, who coached the Seahawks to the franchise’s first Lombardi, and former quarterback Geno Smith, who left in the offseason to reunite with Carroll in Vegas.
Smith left the game after just three passes. Aidan O’Connell took over and played through three quarters of football. O’Connell completed 18 of 30 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown, and 2 interceptions.
Carroll replaced O’Connell with rookie quarterback Cam Miller, whom they drafted in the sixth round out of North Dakota State. Miller completed 6 of 7 passes for 76 yards and threw one touchdown.

The Seahawks began the game with Lock, whom they re-signed in the summer after he spent the 2024 season with the New York Giants. Lock completed 12 passes (54%) for 147 yards, one touchdown, and one interception before handing the baton over to rookie Jalen Milroe.
Formerly of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Milroe completed 6 passes for 61 yards and additionally ran three times for 38 yards.
Running back Holani rushed 7 times for 61 yards and one touchdown. The Seahawks’ X admin trolled the Raiders by calling undrafted Holani the better RB to graduate from Boise State instead of first-rounder Ashton Jeanty, who recorded -1 yards from 3 attempts.

The game ended in a tie (23-23) after the Seahawks’ special team blocked Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson’s field goal attempt.
In their second game, the Raiders welcome the San Francisco 49ers to Allegiant Stadium while the Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs.
