Pete Carroll is officially now the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. He brings along with him 18 years of experience leading football teams in the NFL, along with his prior experiences in college football. However, he also comes in as the oldest head coach in the league at age 73.
But that did not deter Raiders owners Mark Davis and Tom Brady. The latter holds Carroll in high regard, having faced him multiple times during his playing career. Many rumors suggest it was the seven-time Super Bowl champion who probably pushed Davis to hire Carroll.
The Las Vegas Raiders needed a person to build the culture, and who better than one who has extensive experience doing just that? During his introductory press conference, a product of that culture was present and yelled out while Pete Carroll was speaking.
RRRRAAIDERRRRSSSSSS!
Marshawn Lynch yelled
That was Marshawn Lynch, a proud Raiders fan and former player whose excitement was clear as night and day. He knows what his former head coach brings to the table, especially the winning culture he brings to the franchise.

Pete Carroll famously did not place the ball in Lynch’s hands that would have probably won them Super Bowl XLIX. Instead, Russell Wilson threw an interception that helped Tom Brady win his fourth ring. Now, Carroll has to build a winning culture, and his primary focus is to start with a solid run game.
Pete Carroll wants to start winning games right away
Pete Carroll has been brought in to build a winning culture that the Las Vegas Raiders have not had for a long time. But that culture takes time to build and might need a few years before it comes to fruition. However, the Super Bowl winning coach made his intentions clear on how he plans to tackle it.

We’re starting right now, we’re going for it immediately. We don’t have 5 or 6 years down the road, that’s not what we are thinking. We’re gonna get this thing rolling as soon as possible.
Pete Carroll said
The veteran coach asked Maxx Crosby, who was present at the press conference, to send this message out. Carroll believes the Raiders are going to surprise people in a while. He hopes he will be able to spring a good turnaround and push them to multiple wins.
“We’re gonna start right now. Maxx in the back there, send the message man. We’re gonna get this thing rolling as soon as possible.”

The Raiders defense has some solid pieces, and they can build through the draft. But they have a major concern at the quarterback position. With Russell Wilson available as a free agent, he will be linked to his former head coach. But only time will tell which direction the oldest head coach in the league will go.
