Marta Kostyuk added a touch of fun to her quarterfinal match against Donna Vekic on Wednesday (July 31). Despite the high-pressure situation, the Ukrainian managed to entertain both herself and the fans during the match.
Both players entered the match having caused an upset in the game. While Kostyuk beat Maria Sakkari in an intense three-setter clash, her opponent, Donna Vekic, did one better and beat World No. 2 Coco Gauff in straight sets. They played each other for a place in the semi-final.
Vekic was up a break in the very first game and continued to take the lead to seal the first set. However, Kostyuk also fought back in the next set to force a deciding third set. She was in the zone to go back and win more points but had to stay for the break between the sets.
Making the most of it, the Ukrainian decided to entertain the audience with a small dance to Bruno Mars‘ Uptown Funk song that was playing in the stadium. She swayed and danced along all the way back to her side of the court.

A fine run from the Ukrainian ace came to an end as Vekic moved on to the last four. Vekic will face Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova in the semis today (August 1).
