Martin Odegaard informs Real Madrid that he wants to leave on loan in the winter transfer window as he wants more game time
Martin Odegaard mightily impressed at Real Sociedad but has not been given the chance to do the same at Real Madrid as chances have been tough to come by here at this club

Yet again another victim of Zinedine Zidane’s inept man management skills, Martin Odegaard wants to leave the Spanish club for greener pastures. The young attacking midfielder highly impressed many a people when he was loaned to Real Sociedad and Real Madrid didn’t loan him out again to any other club. But it has been a nightmare return to his parent club for Odegaard as the Norwegian has not played a meaningful amount of time for the Los Blancos.

A combined 367 minutes has been allowed for the young attacking midfielder consisting of all competitions

That means that the midfielder has played only 4 full matches for Real Madrid since having been a revelation at Real Sociedad just a year before. It all comes down to Zinedine Zidane’s awful man management skills as not many players get to feature regularly. Zidane sticks to his starting 11 for all competitions and even against Athletic Bilbao in the Supercopa de Espana, he played his full starting 11 instead of giving the other players a chance.

The Norwegian attacking midfielder has handed in a request of being loaned and many a club could take advantage of this situation. Premier League club Arsenal are in need of an attacking midfielder and they could land Odegaard on the cheap. They could partner Odegaard with Emile Smith Rowe and ensure that both young players develop and use Thomas Partey as a deep lying midfielder. Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos could be used for rotation thereby ensuring that most players get adequate game time. Premier League champions Liverpool are also lacking a creative spark in recent matches as they haven’t scored in three matches and haven’t won in 4 matches.

Martin Odegaard will have a lot of suitors as clubs know how good he is with the way he played at Real Sociedad. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid entertain his request of being sent out.
