I am content. I am content, I am happy, I am excited about the future. I don’t have any regrets. I wish I won more races. But who doesn’t?

Martin Truex Jr. said via Frontstretch.

He added that he has a great feeling about the future beyond NASCAR. But MTJ will keep an eye on the sport and will come around driving race weeks to see his ex-rivals race each other. He seems to be excited to experience the sport as a fan again.

I feel great about it and I’m excited about the future, I still get to come around, have some fun, ask why people why they suck, why they’re not winning, what’s wrong with your car, what’s wrong with your team, why aren’t things going right, it’d be fun.

Martin Truex Jr. added.

More than that, the amount of starts, never missing a race, and never getting hurt, just always being there and giving it my all, never letting up, and that’s kind of why I’m here. It’s time to let off the gas a little bit.

Martin Truex Jr. said.

The veteran racer seems to excite about his post-retirement life away from the sport. But his love for the sport and the respect fans have for him, will never let him be too far from racing. It will be interesting to see how many races MTJ will attend after retirement.
