The 2025 NASCAR season is set to official start with the Daytona Speedweeks and they are focused on the last-minute preparations. Fans and driver are looking forward to what the 2025 edition of the Great American Race, Daytona 500, has to offer on February 16. NASCAR has announced the Grand Marshal for the event, increasing the excitement of fans.
Actor Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of Captain America (Sam Wilson) in Marvel’s comic-based movie universe is set to give the iconic “drivers start your engines” command. It’s part of a cross promotion, as the Hollywood stars latest movie Captain America: Brave New World is set to release during the Speedweeks.
Having one of the most famous actors in Hollywood at the moment giving the command is a huge opportunity for the sport to attract more fans to the sport and also offers Marvel a great venue to promote their upcoming movie. The comic book/movie fans as well as the race fans will have a great experience.
Lats year the command was given by WWE legend and actor Rock (Dwayne Johnson), who was able to help the sport garner a lot of attention. NASCAR will be hoping that the race will not get postponed to Monday like it did last season owing to a rain delay as it causes series financial loss as well as drop in overall viewership to the sport.

It’s a privilege to welcome Anthony Mackie as the Grand Marshal for the 67th running of the DAYTONA 500. Anthony’s energy and presence will add to the excitement, especially with Captain America: Brave New World set to release the same weekend. Having him deliver the most famous words in motorsports before the green flag waves will make for a truly unforgettable moment.
