Mary Kay Cabot, one of the most famous sports beat reporters from Cleveland, has caught headlines with her jab aimed at the former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick. Cabot was speaking at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Gold Jacket Dinner, where she received the Bill Nunn Memorial Award.
The remarks centered around Bill Belichick’s highly public relationship with 24-year-old model and pageant, Jordon Hudson. The comments were well-received on social media, with both for and against memes and tweets. One such comment, in favor of Belichick and Hudson, was reposted by Hudson.
The user claimed that there was not much to laugh at and noted that they held contempt for reporters who turn on the spotlight towards them rather than reporting stories.
Not much of a ‘laugh. No wonder so many have contempt for the media, especially those who want to be the story rather than report on the story.
The tweet said
Heartbreaking: 24-year-old Jordon Hudson didn't appreciate Mary Kay Cabot's joke about Bill Belichick liking younger women.

Mary Cabot and Bill Belichick started their careers in Cleveland, an hour and a half away from Canton and the HOF. The sportswriter reminisced her foundation years of her career, stating that Belichick was one of the first coaches she ever covered as a beat reporter for the Cleveland Browns.
She added that Belichick used to privately give Cabot a hard time if he didn’t like what she was printing. Cabot finally had to confront the coach about the burden he had become to her. These anecdotes weren’t the highlights that made Hudson retaliate.
I totally understand why Bill gave me such a hard time. I was 28 at the time, and he just couldn’t relate to a woman that old.

The comment was, no wonder, a jab at the age gap between Hudson and Belichick. The coach is in his 70s, while the model is only 24.
The UNC Tar Heels buried under the onslaught of other Bill Belichick headlines
Bill Belichick took over the coaching duties for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels some eight months ago. In the short duration, there have been a ton of headlines that have been quite far from the college football aspect.

The highly publicized age-gap romance has taken center stage, with the CBS interview mishap being a huge plot line. There were also questions of Hudson’s involvement in the activities of UNC.
Additionally, there were quite a number of critics who took shots at the duo, supported them, and put in their own two cents. If Belichick drama wasn’t enough, the UNC’s decision to continue heavy spending on athletics amid budget cuts was also a talked-about topic.
Amid Cabot’s snark and the HOF weekend, the UNC Tar Heels started their fall practice as their opener is just a month away. The Tar Heels had a terrible outing last year with 6 wins and 7 losses, including a humiliating home loss to James Madison, a comeback win by Duke, and a fourth consecutive loss to NC State.
The Tar Heels, after a radical change in the offensive unit, start their campaign against the TCU Horned Frogs on Labor Day at their home. The prime time game, which has already sold out, is also a standalone game for ESPN on September 1. The Horned Frogs are looking to better their 9-4 from last year as they enter the fourth year under Sonny Dykes.
