Ex-Manchester United star Mason Greenwood hits CAREER-BEST goal scoring tally in Ligue 1 as Marseille beat Saint-Etienne 2-0

Mason Greenwood has been in rampant form in the ongoing iteration of Ligue 1 as he netted his 10th goal of the season, propelling Marseille to a stunning win over Saint Etienne. With his strike on the 65th minute, Greenwood equaled his best-ever goal tally in a league, which he had previously achieved for Manchester United in the 2019-20 season.
In the 2019-20 season, Mason Greenwood went onto score 10 goals from 31 Premier League appearances. Scaling the skies for Marseille already, Mason Greenwood hammered 10 goals in the latest Ligue 1 season.
Mason Greenwood also became the first international player to score 10 goals in just 14 games since erstwhile Brazilian international, Sonny Anderson. Anderson hammered 10 goals from 14 games in 1994 and the record took 30 years to be equaled.
Greenwood’s dream run in Ligue 1 continued this season as he is now the joint second-highest goal-scorer alongside PSG’s Bradley Barcola. It is just a solitary strike that separates Greenwood from the leading scorer of the league currently, Jonathan David, from Lille. It goes without saying that the English striker will be hoping to shatter his own record and keep on doing the phenomenal job that he has done so far.

A 17th minute strike from Adrien Rabiot propelled Marseille into the lead while Mason Greenwood scored in the 65th minute to put the game beyond St. Etienne. Marseille are currently in the second position of the points table with 29 points from 14 matches, while PSG lead the charts with 34 points from an identical number of matches.
Barcelona and Real Madrid might be eyeing for Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood went into a bit of stutter after allegations of domestic abuse surfaced against the youngster. However, the charges were dropped as witnesses withdrew from the case while there were new materials that came to light.
With that being said, Greenwood was cleared by the Crown Prosecution Service while Manchester United ran their own internal investigation.
After United deemed that they will part ways with the youngster, Marseille were happy to land him and now the goals speak for themselves. However, with the spark in Greenwood that always existed, even during his days at Manchester United, new suitors want to land Greenwood.
According to TBR Football, Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the English wunderkind and they believe that a striker of Greenwood’s caliber will be an exceptional addition to the attacking echelons of the two Spanish giants.
