The big one is finally here. After two weeks in Texas, the PGA Tour action now heads towards Georgia, for the first major championship of the year, the Masters Tournament.

This week, the first major event of the year will take place. This will be the 89th edition of the Masters Tournament, making it one of the oldest tournaments in golfing history. Once again, some of the top names of the golfing world will take to the field in an attempt to land the iconic green jacket.

Before the event gets underway on Thursday, the traditional par-3 contest will be held on Wednesday. In this event, golfers take part with their families acting as caddies and play on short, nine-hole layout. Apart from that, former champions will come together on Tuesday for a Champions Dinner at 6 p.m. sharp.

This year, the host of this dinner will be Scottie Scheffler once again. The World No. 1 won his 2nd Masters title last year, finishing 11-under par for the tournament. He will enter the event this year hoping to join an elite company of being a 3-time Masters Champion.

If he were to go back-to-back, he will have to battle it out against some of the elite names in golf. World No.2 Rory McIlroy has been labeled as the favorite by many to go out there and finally pick up a win in this event. Meanwhile, Xander Schauffele, who won 2 majors last year, is also looking to get back to winning ways in this event.

When and where to watch The Masters 2025?

The Masters Tournament will take place this week from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13. Like always, they event will be hosted at it’s iconic home, the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

Founded by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, the course was designed by Jones and Alister MacKenzie and has been opened for play since 1932. Unlike, the other golf courses, the Augusta National is a for-profit corporation.

The TV Coverage for this event will on CBS and ESPN. The latter will cover the par-3 contest on Wednesday and the first two rounds of action on Thursday and Friday. CBS will then take over the TV coverage for the third and final rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Fans can also watch this event on ESPN+, Paramount+, Masters.com and the Masters App.

Here is the schedule for the USA viewers:

  • Thursday, April 10: 3-7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
  • Friday, April 11: 3-7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
  • Saturday, April 12: 12-2 p.m. ET (Paramount+), 2-7 p.m. (CBS)
  • Sunday, April 13: 12-2 p.m. ET (Paramount+), 2-7 p.m. (CBS)

As for fans in the United Kingdom, the coverage for this event, will be available on the Sky Sports channel. The Coverage for this will start at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. It will run until 12:30 a.m. on all four days.

Masters Tournament 2025 prize money

The Masters Tournament is one of the 4 majors championships of golf. This means that it has a higher status than regular events on the tour. So, unlike the Valero Texas Open, which had a $9.5 million purse, the pool will be bigger in this event.

While being par with signature events, The 2025 Masters Tournament will have a prize purse of $20 million. This will see the winner of the event pocket a massive cheque of $4 million. Last year, Scheffler took home this amount after walking away with $4 million and $4.5 million from the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championships.

This event will also have 750 FedEx Cup points for the winner. This is the same number of points, The Players Championship offers. Tee times for this event will be released later and updated accordingly.
