After being released from WWE, Matt Riddle launched his cannabis strain called Riddle OG. Following the success of his original strain, he decided to launch multiple cannabis strains. However, he was not alone in his new venture, as he collaborated with WWE Hall of Famer, The Godfather.
Matt Riddle‘s brand, Bro-Netics, shared a post from its Instagram account announcing the collaboration with The Godfather. Charles Wright was known for many of his personas, like “The Godfather,” “Papa Shango,” and “Kama Mustafa.” Riddle stated that he has always been appreciative of cannabis. He also credited it for changing his life and career.
They released three new signature strains suited to the taste he favored in cannabis. The strains currently available for testing are “Voodoo Driver” – Dat Purple Sh*t x White Fire Chem, “Papa Shango Og”- The White Og x White Fire Chem, and The Godfathers “Smoke Train” – Jet Fuel x Hindu Ghost Og. Moreover, he even considered himself a cannabis connoisseur, who firmly believed that dedication always leads to success.
Speaking of the journey after his departure from WWE, Riddle wrestled in Major League Wrestling and defeated Jacob Fatu at the Kings of Collesium pay-per-view this year in January. The Original Bro also wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling and defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the new NJPW World Television Champion on February 23. However, on April 12, his 49-day title reign ended when Saber Jr. dethroned him at the Windy City Riot.
WWE creatives laughed at the idea of Matt Riddle and Randy Orton forming a tag team
Before Randy Orton went on a long break due to an injury, he was part of a tag team called RK-BRO. Their chemistry was off the charts, and together they gave some of the most entertaining segments. However, before he and Orton joined forces, he revealed how the idea of the two forming a team came up.
During an interview with Johnny I Pro Show, he shared his insights about how, at first, creatives just laughed at hearing about the idea. However, after two weeks, they reached out to Riddle and felt that they needed to pair them up. The Viper also pitched the idea of working with him after their singles match.
Weeks before this I suggested we tag as RK-Bro and the writing team just kinda laughed at me. Which most of my ideas they laugh and then like 2 weeks later they’ll be like ‘Hey I think we gotta do this’ and I’m like ‘Sounds awesome.’ I don’t even bring it up to them.Matt Riddle via Johnny I Pro Show
Not only were they liked by the WWE Universe, but they also found some success in the tag team division. They captured the Raw Tag Team Championship twice, winning at SummerSlam in 2021 for the first time and on the March 7 episode of Raw for the second time. Even though he was released from WWE, The Original Bro never missed a chance to praise Randy Orton.
