“I’ve Heard from My Boys,” Controversial Wrestler Makes a Bold Claim About CM Punk Still Troubling the WWE Locker room
CM Punk has been accused of being a headache for the WWE locker room by a controversial wrestler who has previously worked for the company.

CM Punk‘s return to WWE has been an overwhelmingly positive aspect for the company. He has mended fences with a number of people in the back, which, at one point, seemed impossible. Punk’s coworkers, except for a few like Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, have only spoken highly of the Straight Edge Superstar. But guess what? Former WWE wrestler Matt Riddle has claimed otherwise.
In a recent interview with Going Ringside, the current MLW Heavyweight Champion was asked about if he’d consider working for AEW. Riddle was open to it but outlined that the company’s still rebuilding from some ex-WWE stars like CM Punk going belly-up for Tony Khan‘s wrestling promotion. The Original Bro asserted that he doesn’t like The Best in the World, who “sucks at fighting and is a b***h to work with.”
This guy complains about getting multiple world title runs. I’ve heard from my boys that still work there (WWE) that he is a headache, and this isn’t a storyline, this is the facts.
Matt Riddle said on CM Punk
When asked why the former RK-Bro member said so, Riddle added that it’s because Punk always keeps complaining about stuff. The Pennsylvania native even went on to say that his friends who still work with WWE have told him that Punk is a headache. For the unversed, Riddle has never shared a locker room with The Red-Headed Stepchild.
WWE fired Riddle in September 2023 in the wake of his incessant misadventures outside of the company. The Bro’s release came a couple of months prior to Punk’s return at Survivor Series. In essence, Riddle hasn’t personally experienced what it’s like to be around Punk, who has been receiving rave reviews about his amicable conduct in the ongoing WWE run.
What went wrong with CM Punk in AEW?
All Elite Wrestling will forever be credited for bringing CM Punk back to the world of pro wrestling after a six-year wait. The debut episode of AEW Rampage, where the 46-year-old showed up, clocked a staggering 1.129 million viewers. While being there, Punk had some classic feuds. However, the one that stood out was the one he had with MJF, who grew up idolizing Punk.

During his tenure, The Second City Saint got his hands on the AEW world title twice. The first of Punk’s major real-life brawls in the promotion stemmed from his incendiary comments during the All Out media scrum in September 2022. He went off on EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks and even lambasted Adam “Hangman” Page for going off script on national television.
Punk didn’t return until June 2023, and things had changed for the worse by then. The second incident that eventually landed the Chicagoan out of AEW was his backstage confrontation with Jack Perry at All In: London in August. The veteran wrestler was instigated to a point where he got physical with Perry, the footage of which was even aired by AEW on its programming.
CM Punk to face John Cena at WWE Night of Champions 2025
This week on Raw, John Cena kicked off the show. He was fresh off a pinfall loss at Money in the Bank, where he and Logan Paul went down to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. However, Cena didn’t care to address it, and he instead bragged about his remaining WWE dates before he rode off into the sunset.

The Last Real Champion also criticized the fans for wasting their energy on R-Truth and asked for some real competition. CM Punk answered Cena’s call, and he went on to claim that he’ll save the people from whatever obsession Cena has to ruin wrestling.
The Best in the World mentioned that he didn’t plan on chasing the Undisputed WWE title upon his return in 2023 because the weight of that belt had previously made him stoop to some uncalled-for lows.
This is not a throwback. CM Punk vs. John Cena, one more time 😮💨

But seeing the monster that Cena has become since winning the world title for the 17th time, Punk asserted that he’s ready to become a monster to slay a monster. Cena told Punk that he’d have to follow him all the way to Saudi Arabia to make their match happen, which has been made official for Night of Champions on June 28.
