Matteo Berrettini was not short of praise for Novak Djokovic and his achievements at the age of 37. While most tennis players usually hang up their rackets at that age, the Serbian has been competing with the youngsters and challenging himself.
This year has been difficult for Djokovic, who remained titleless till this month. However, he had been wanting to do well at the Paris Olympics and he managed to achieve his goal. He defeated Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2) in the final at the Summer Games to win the gold medal for Serbia.
Matteo Berrettini, who has suffered a fair share of injuries in his career, expressed awe at the Serbian’s longevity and performances. The Italian was recently a guest on Andy Roddick‘s podcast, where he praised Djokovic and said that he gets goosebumps because of his achievements.

Djokovic is now only the fifth player to complete the career Golden Slam — winning all four Majors and the Olympic singles gold.
Novak Djokovic eyes 2028 Los Angeles Games
At the age of 37, Novak Djokovic beat one of the best in the game to win the gold medal at the 2024 pairs Olympics. Despite all odds and a recent knee surgery, he emerged victorious without dropping a set.
Many expected this to be the Serbian’s final Olympics. However, he has stated that he would like to take part in the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
