The Los Angeles Rams made a shocking decision in the offseason, announcing that they are parting ways with Cooper Kupp. Kupp, who spent eight years with the club, was one of the integral players in the Super Bowl LVI championship.
The Rams had been one of the formidable offenses of the season. They came back from behind to reclaim the NFC West title, defeating mighty and powerful offenses like the Buffalo Bills. Although their season ended in the divisional round, the Rams put up a huge fight against the Philadelphia Eagles.
They headed into the offseason with key questions remaining including Kupp as well as the quarterback position. They were expected to be aggressive about the whole offseason trades to take the momentum from the previous year and attempt for their second championship.
As Kupp landed a role in the Seattle Seahawks, a divisional rival, quarterback Matthew Stafford opened up on his relationship with the wideout. On the other hand, Stafford found himself spending one more year with the Rams after restructuring a new deal.
In a recent interview, Stafford admitted that despite the distance, they will remain friends who each other can expect to carry their backs in need. He also praised Kupp and his efforts to champion the community.
A great teammate, a great Ram… I think everybody here knows that and can appreciate what he was for our team and what he was for this community. Happy that he landed somewhere he wanted to be and got the deal he deserved. I’ll still stay in touch with him like I always do, and I’ll pull for him as long as we’re not going against each other.

After all, when you spend more than 500 hours outside the regular team obligations, you are set to make a bond beyond football with them.
Sean McVay and the Rams will regret letting Cooper Kupp leave for Seattle
In Tuesday’s episode of Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio stated the Los Angeles Rams and Sean McVay will regret letting Cooper Kupp leave.

Florio noted that in the span of the next four years, Sean McVay will have a candid interview, similar to the Jared Goff interview. He went on to ask whether the love and support from fans fizzles out once you step outside the ground.
I have a feeling in the next 2,3,4, years, he’ll have this candid admission during a sit down with Fox prior to a big game of ‘he regrets how he handled the final days of Cooper Kupp. The reality is, when they’re done with you, they’re done with you, and so is there any warm and fuzziness on the way out the door? No, you know why? Because they’re done with you.
Mike Florio said
The Rams, despite signing Davante Adams are not looking like a well-put together squad. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks, a divisional rival, has risen up the ranks as a better NFC West candidate next year. The Seahawks added Sam Darnold as the quarterback, signed Kupp and also brought in TE Eric Saubert for more a more coordinated offensive line.
With two opportunities to play in an opposite jersey against the Rams, Sean McVay is bound to regret the decision as per Florio. Nevertheless, Kupp’s production has been very low last year.
