A couple of days ago, Matthew Stafford probably did what he does before every game, that is, wishing his wife, Kelly Stafford, and their four daughters over FaceTime from Seattle.

After all, he, and so did everyone associated with the football world, knows that the road game against the Seahawks could end up being a long night.

There was not much to separate the two teams. Both had exciting offenses, ready to douse the other with a lot of points. Then, they have top-tier defenses that can also stop the other from doing so.

Stafford’s daughters and wife may have felt as good about this game as anyone on both sides of the ball. Then, as their game went on, that excitement probably grew as the QB brought his team to within five points of the home team with a quarter left to play.

Then came the fourth quarter, and after taking nearly seven minutes to drive 84 yards down into the Seahawks’ end zone, the Stafford family probably felt that the Rams QB was going to get them a game-leading score.

They could not, as the home team stopped Matthew Stafford from making any progress. Eventually, that goal-line stop saw the Rams lose the game 27-31.

Disappointed with the way they finished their season, the team flew back home. Kelly Stafford then released a video showing her husband tucking in their four daughters. The deafening quietness relayed the sadness the tough loss brought to the family.

Matthew Stafford had heartwarming interaction with Cooper Kupp

By tucking in his daughters at 2:30 AM, Matthew Stafford proved that he cannot forget his duties as a father just because he was stopped one level short of reaching the Super Bowl.

After the NFC Championship loss, the Florida native also proved that his friendship with Cooper Kupp was bigger than football or anything else.

Quit making me look for you so long. Go win your damn Super Bowl, kid. You played great.

Matthew Stafford told Cooper Kupp

This was the 2025 passing leader’s message to his former teammate, who, along with his wife, Kelly Stafford, advocated for the Rams to keep Kupp.

There wasn’t a bigger irony than this when the veteran wide receiver and his Seattle Seahawks defeated the team that gave up on him. Matthew Stafford did his part as a great friend and kept looking for his former wideout until he could meet him for the last time this season.

Kupp and his Seahawks will now start preparing to take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. Hopefully, he can add another ring to his trophy case to remind Sean McVay and the Rams that they made a mistake letting him go.

Matthew Stafford would likely continue with Rams

Even though Cooper Kupp was going to continue playing football at least for one more time this season, everyone wanted to know if his former signal-caller would play next year.

If he still wants to play, what the hell kind of question is that?

Sean McVay told reporters

The Rams’ head coach reminded those present that they would have to ask Matthew Stafford about his future. However, he felt that his QB should continue playing, as he has proved to him that he is the MVP of this past regular season.

That alone should be enough motivation to keep going, as it is absurd for him to play at this level at this age. It seems that unless the quarterback says otherwise, he is likely to continue playing for the Los Angeles Rams next season.
