The Los Angeles Rams stirred the internet this week, announcing that the trade rumors surrounding wide receiver Cooper Kupp are true. But more than fans, Matthew Stafford’s wife is especially disappointed with the franchise due to this trade decision, as she didn’t hold back from voicing her discontent on her podcast.
Kupp is counted among the star players of Los Angeles, who was honored with Super Bowl MVP instead of quarterback Stafford after the Rams claimed the trophy by defeating the Cincinnati Bengals a few seasons ago. Yet, the franchise feels trading Kupp would elevate the offense as they aim for the Super Bowl next season.
While Matthew is yet to comment on the news, his wife Kelly Stafford expressed her discontent on the latest episode of her “The Morning After” podcast. Kelly has always spoken in the best interest of her husband and his team, and she doesn’t like the direction in which the Rams are proceeding.
Uh oh: Kelly Stafford is NOT happy the Rams are trading away Cooper Kupp and insinuates that she's okay with them trading Matthew next:

Whether Kupp’s trade would be a breaking point for the Staffords, or if other factors have been brewing, remains to be seen. For now, it’s quite clear that the Rams quarterback’s wife is concerned with where the franchise is headed.
Rams’ contract talks fuel speculation about Matthew Stafford’s future
The other reason behind Kelly’s unhappiness could be the uncertainty surrounding the future of her husband in Los Angeles. Although the Super Bowl champion is under contract through 2025, there’s a possibility that he won’t be playing for the Rams next season as Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer explained.
As the 2025 offseason approaches soon after a standout season by Matthew leading the team to the divisional title game in the playoffs, it’s time for the franchise to “revisit” his contract. And that’s where the unpredictability lies.
