Matthew Stafford keeps getting better each week. At 37, he’s ranked within the top 5 in nearly every quarterback metric possible, while throwing the second most touchdown passes (one less than Broncos’ Bo Nix, who played one extra game), ahead of the big divisional showdown against the San Francisco 49ers in week eleven.

Stafford threw two touchdown passes and set up one more for running back Kyren Williams to give the Rams a 21-7 lead at Levi’s Stadium in the first half. Even though the Niners reduced the gap to eight points, the Rams managed to preserve and extend their lead in the final quarter.

Williams, Davante Adamas, and Colby Parkinson each added one touchdown apiece to reach their first 40-point haul of the season. Despite conceding a late touchdown, the Rams held on to secure a memorable 42-26 win at the Bay.

Matthew Stafford sealed the victory with 24 completions out of 36 pass attempts, totaling 280 yards, 4 touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 135.05. As reported by ESPN’s Sarah Bishop, Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to record four passing touchdowns and zero interceptions in three consecutive games.

The MVP chants are getting louder. He is currently the oldest player to be part of the conversation that includes running back Jonathan Taylor. In Week 10, the Colts’ RB racked up 244 yards from 32 carries and 3 rushing touchdowns in a win over the Falcons.

Rubbing shoulders with Stafford and Taylor is Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Maye took down Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the derby of Tom Brady‘s successors.

For a while, there were no clear favorites for the NFL MVP until now. However, for most, Stafford is the frontrunner to snatch the title from Josh Allen.

Matthew Stafford reached a historic personal milestone by staying on the path to becoming a first-time MVP

Stafford improved his season’s tally to 208 completions from 310 attempts (67.1%) for 2427 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. Former two-time Super Bowl-winning cornerback, Bryant McFadden, picked Stafford as the favorite to become the league MVP over Taylor and Maye.

Matthew Stafford hasn’t thrown an interception since week 2. In his last six ball games, he has thrown in terms of touchdowns: 3, 3, 1,5, 4, 4. His last six ball games, 20 passing touchdowns. [He is] throwing at a high clip, he’s seeing the football field extremely well, and most importantly, they are winning ball games right now.

Bryant McFadden said on the CBS post-game show

Stafford not only leads the MVP charts, but he also ticked off a personal milestone with the win against the 49ers. According to ESPN Insights,

Matthew Stafford just reached a .500 career win percentage for the first time… At 231 starts, that’s the most starts by a QB before reaching .500 since starts were first tracked in 1950.

Stafford’s win column looks like 115-115-1. The season’s not finished. There are plenty of games left for Stafford to improve his stock even further, starting with facing the Seattle Seahawks in LA, who boast the same 7-2 record as the Rams after dismantling the Cardinals.
