Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford has been one of the biggest talks of the NFL town. Stafford has been associated with several teams in the past weeks including the New York Giants. The Giants trade association has not gone down well.

ESPN analyst Damien Woody did not mince words when discussing the possibility of quarterback Matthew Stafford joining the New York Giants. During a segment on ESPN’s Get Up, Woody called the Giants organization “a disaster,” making it clear that he sees New York as one of Stafford’s worst possible landing spots.

The discussion, led by host Mike Greenberg, centered around Stafford’s potential next move. Many believed the veteran quarterback could be on his way out of Los Angeles. Greenberg himself didn’t hold back, pointing out the many challenges the Giants currently face.

You’re going to a wind tunnel behind a terrible offensive line on a team that was just awful last year. The coach and the general manager’s careers are basically hanging by a thread. They’re in a ridiculously competitive division. If you’re Matt Stafford, that can’t possibly be right now anywhere near the top of your list, can it?

Mike Greenberg stated

Woody took things a step further. “No way would I want to play for the New York Football Giants. The New York football Giants are a disaster!” he quipped.

Woody criticized the Giants’ recent management decisions, particularly their handling of star running back Saquon Barkley and the questionable investment in quarterback Daniel Jones.

New York Giants’ inability to protect their quarterback key obstacle for Matthew Stafford

In his segment, Damien Woody also highlighted the team’s ongoing struggles in protecting their quarterbacks. The former star pointed out that would be a major concern for Matthew Stafford, especially given his injury history.

They can’t protect the quarterback. And oh, by the way, the front office and coach are barely hanging on. If you go out there, you’re Matthew Stafford playing outdoors in the NFC East with all that type of inclement weather, what happens if things don’t roll your way?

Damien Woody stated

Matthew Stafford, being a veteran quarterback, wouldn’t want to be a part of a struggling franchise in his last days. “That whole regime could be out. Then you could be in a situation where you have a whole new regime coming in. I don’t want any part of that instability if I’m Matthew Stafford,” Woody continued.

The debate over Stafford’s next destination will continue. However, the Giants have plenty of work to do if they want to shake off their reputation as a struggling franchise.
