In the past five years, Patrick Mahomes has been the one to popularize the no-look pass. However, fans have forgotten that while the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback has done it multiple times, another quarterback was doing it before him. That is Matthew Stafford, who was making similar plays except he was doing this in Detroit, which is why he did not get a similar level of attention as Mahomes does.

Matthew Stafford went all-in as he attempted to pull out all the tactics in his arsenal. He wound up resorting to the no-look pass as he threw to Puka Nacua. The veteran quarterback pulls it off perfectly and last night too, Philadelphia’s defense missed it.

This is not the first time that the quarterback has executed this play in the postseason. Matthew Stafford resorted to this trick in the Super Bowl against the Bengals, and as fans know, that ended successfully. However, the Rams were not as fortunate against the Eagles.

Despite Matthew Stafford’s best efforts, the Eagles outplayed the Rams

The result favored the Eagles and despite a hard-fought battle between the two teams, Stafford’s year ended earlier than he would have liked. There is a distinct possibility that this could have been his last game in the NFL.

Stafford refused to comment after the game as he sought time to do some introspection of his own. The 36-year-old quarterback had a rough time keeping up with Saquon Barkley‘s production and the pace set by the Eagles. He took a few hits, and the snow played spoilsport, impacting his balance occasionally.

On the game’s final play, Stafford had an opportunity to convert with Puka Nacua on a fourth-and-11 throw, but he missed, which was the end of the Rams’ Super Bowl aspirations.

Los Angeles cost themselves the game with fumbles and drops from Nacua, Tyler Higbee, and Kyren Williams. Philadelphia, on the contrary, unleashed Saquon Barkley on them and the rest is now history.
