Couples try various ways to win over their partner, even dating someone else to make them jealous, just like Kelly Hall (Stafford). The wife of Matthew Stafford revealed she played a small game with the Los Angeles Rams quarterback so that he would come running toward her.

Kelly and Matthew met and dated each other in college back in Georgia. However, she intentionally or unintentionally blurted out about breaking up with him to hook up with his backup in the Bulldogs.

While appearing on the ‘Off the Vines’ podcast hosted by Kaitlyn Bristowe, Stafford disclosed her dating history, which wasn’t smooth sailing from the get-go.

It wasn’t that cute of a relationship at first. I hated him, [but] I loved him. I dated the backup to piss him off, which worked—he was the bad boy too. Matthew’s [Stafford] so sweet, a Southern gentleman, and all that stuff. And the backup was the complete opposite, and it upset him.
Kelly Stafford said

This wasn’t the first time she shared the story about their relationship. Back in March this year, she was on the WFAN Sports Radio 101.9 FM/660 AM New York’s Carton & Roberts and explained that initially, Matthew Stafford wasn’t interested in a relationship. Kelly admitted that she did it on purpose to ‘piss him off.’

It wasn't a plot to begin with, but [when I realized how it was working out], I didn't stop the relationship, just because I knew I had a little effect on Matthew. The guy wasn't all rainbows and a sweetheart back then.

She had everything planned out, from how to make Stafford envious, which would slowly make him fall in love with her.

How did Kelly Stafford and Matthew Stafford get married?

Both Matthew and the backup QB shared the same dorm at the University of Georgia. So, when Kelly would come over, he would see her car being parked outside.

The Super Bowl winner one day approached her while she was getting into her car. He tried to warn her that the guy she was dating wasn’t the right choice for her.

I was like, ‘Get out of my car.’ He was like, ‘He’s not right for you.’ I was like, ‘What? You can’t tell me that'.
Kelly Stafford said

They eventually got married in 2015, six years after he became the starter for the Detroit Lions. The couple has four daughters: 7-year-old twins Chandler and Sawyer, Hunter, 5, and Tyler, 3. Needless to say, they left behind the complicacy of their relationship in college.
