Brandon Hagel, the Tampa Bay Lightning star spoke on his fight regarding Tkachuk ahead of the rematch on Thursday. Hagel pointed out that he fought his opponent “for the flag and not for the cameras“. He also stated that they (Team Canada) did not need to initiate anything or have group chats.

On Wednesday, the older Tkachuk fired back at Hagel. With a smile on his face, the 27-year-old claimed that Canadians probably did not like each other then if they did not have any group chats.

Maybe their team doesn’t like each other then if they don’t have group chats. I think that’s just a player enjoying this opportunity.

Tkachuk also mentioned that he was ready to go for the final. During the game on Saturday, he missed a huge portion of the third period and was sidelined from the Monday game against Sweden due to a lower-body injury.

With the stakes high, there is no limit to what the players will be willing to do for their team to succeed. Doughty, the Los Angeles Kings star, has admitted that he will throw down his gloves with Tkachuk if needed.

I’ll do anything for my country. If the time is right and I got a go at him, I guess so.

Drew Doughty said on NHL on TNT

Tkachuk and Doughty have a huge history with each other. Since the days of Tkachuk at Calgary Flames, the two NHLers have often gotten into confrontations with each other. Doughty once labeled his opponent as a “dirty player” after he got elbowed by him. With such a background and big stakes, there are chances that these two will go at each other once again.
