On Tuesday, tensions boiled over once again in the NHL as the Florida Panthers took on the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center. Panthers’ star Matthew Tkachuk found himself locked into a chokehold by a Devils star after he landed a massive hit on Nico Hischier.
The incident sparked off in the third period when the game was tied at 1-1. With around 15 minutes remaining in the game, Tkachuk would come in strong and take out Hischier as he tried to get control of the puck.
The Devils players were not happy with the hit on their captain. They would quickly attack Tkachuk for his hit which ignited a huge brawl among the two sets of players.

After landing a few hits on him, Seigenthaler would put the 27-year-old forward into a chokehold. Hischier would also join him and grabbed his opponent as tempers flared between them.

Nico Hischier comments on his scrap with Matthew Tkachuk
In the game on Tuesday, Nico Hischier and Matthew Tkachuk ignited their rivalry as Tkachuk landed a huge hit on his opponent. After the game, Hischier reflected back on the incident and commented on the matter.
During the press conference after the game, the 26-year-old admitted that his emotions got the better of him after the hit from the Tkachuk. The reason for this could be due to their previous fight over two years ago, where both of them landed heavy punches on each other.
