Mauricio Pochettino ‘not embarrassed’ by Chelsea’s humiliating 5-0 loss to Arsenal, refuses to ‘blame’ the players

A good manager seldom throws his players under the bus. After succumbing to an embarassed 5-0 defeat against rivals Arsenal at the Emirates, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino had little to hold against his players for the poor result. While rival fans and those on Football X made a medal out of their defeat, Pochettino came to the defense of his men.

Goals from Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz and Ben White outlined a night to forget for the Blues. Following the game, Pochettino faced questions from the press, to which he replied that his players were not to be blamed for the result and that being ’embarrassed’ would be unfair to his players. Chelsea currently sit at ninth after the loss.

I won't blame the players. I can't blame the youngsters that came here after suffering circumstances and came here to face a side fighting to win the Premier League.

Many fans mocked the manager for confidently asserting that facing Arsenal without Cole Palmer would be a good challenge. It is safe to say that his assessment backfired.

Leandro Trossard interruptus Ben White’s interview to make bold claim about teammate

Following Chelsea’s embarrassing defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates, the winning side had a lot to say to the press after the game. As Arsenal defender Ben White spoke to the press about his performance, teammate Leandro Trossard interrupted him to give his own opinion. White’s second goal of the night made reason for much debate as to whether he’d meant the same or not.

When asked about whether White intended his goal, he played it off, with a response that deflected the original question. He said that what mattered was that he scored and not if it was intentional or not. However, Trossard interrupted White to his take.

While the internet still remains divided on the same, a clear majority thinks that it was intentional. The timing of the goal and the fact that White clearly looks up to see his options before making the ‘cross’ are obvious signs that it was originally meant as a pass. That being said, no Arsenal fan will care about the same, given that they dismantled Chelsea by five goals to none!
