WWE is a titan in sports entertainment. The programming, the functioning—everything is top-notch. However, behind the scenes, there are many untold secrets about the way WWE operates on a daily basis. A piece of this secret, a handbook from 2012, was revealed by former WWE star Maven. It was a WrestleMania 28 handbook, which was handed to the talent and personnel at that time.
On his YouTube channel, Maven recently published a video about a book WWE wouldn’t want its fans to see. The former WWE Superstar disclosed that this book carried the guidelines of WrestleMania 28 for the employees to follow. It had the schedule as well as the necessary details for the appearances of the superstars. In essence, it also had contact details for many WWE officials, including names such as Johnny Laurinaitis and Arn Anderson.

Furthermore, it contained guidelines for the superstars to follow on social media. Such as the hashtags they have to use and the posts they have to make. It was a pretty confidential item, as it carried the contact details of several backstage personalities. The former Hardcore Champion couldn’t disclose how he got such a rare book of content. However, he shared the details of the book thoroughly in the video.
Maven was a WWE Tough Enough winner who ended up transitioning to the main roster in 2002. He was released back in 2005. After being away from the spotlight for years, he returned with his new YouTube channel. He has been regularly posting similar videos with behind-the-scenes insights on WWE. Therefore, ever since he published the video, fans have had a wave of buzz about how he got his hands on the handbook.
Maven took a look back at the social media policy of 2012 in WWE
2012 was not the time when social media was at its booming peak. However, there is a whole page dedicated to social media guidelines in the WWE handbook from 2012. Maven reacted to this by reflecting on and comparing the social media usage of his time and that of 2012. He called it a drastic change, as superstars had an opinion during his stint.

Speaking later on in the video, the wrestler turned YouTuber said that back in his time, there was not much freedom for wrestlers to put their thoughts out. However, in 2012, superstars had the freedom to interact. He further added how they could openly interact with fans and followers. Besides, he also said that during his time, there were no social media guidelines.
It amazes me to see that, in the few years from the time this WrestleMania happened from the time that I was let go, how much had changed. The fact that they were encouraging you to put out your thoughts, they were encouraging fan engagement, and they were encouraging you to have an opinion on what just happened.Maven on YouTube
Furthermore, the handbook also insisted the superstars share their pre-match and post-match thoughts on the internet. Maven’s thoughts and opinions suggested how much WWE had changed in a decade. In fact, superstars have much more freedom now on the internet, which is also a key reason for WWE’s increasing popularity.
