Mavs raising ticket prices despite backlash from Luka Doncic trade has fans in disbelief: “Ruining this franchise at breakneck speed”
Dallas Mavericks fans are not letting go of the fact that their team traded away their franchise cornerstone in Luka Doncic.

Dallas Mavericks fans unhappy with front office moves after Luka Doncic trade
Ever since the Dallas Mavericks traded away Luka Doncic, they have come under incredible backlash from fans who felt betrayed by their franchise. They could not understand how the team trade their generational superstar away.
That led to death threats to GM Nico Harrison which prompted the team to hire additional security. Then owner Patrick Dumont made matters worse when he suggested the Slovenian was not driven enough to land them their second ever NBA title.
Those comments drew a loud round of boos which surprised Dumont. However, the franchise did not seem to learn a lesson. First, they released a hype where they digitally removed Luka Doncic from the clips.
Then some reports leaked onto social media where it seemed as if the Mavericks were worried with the 25-year-old’s hookah habits. However, fans and some in the media pointed out that the franchise should stop trying to prove themselves right as it will only go on to antagonize their own fans. Now they taken another step when ABC’s WFAA revealed this.
The average overall price increase will be 8.61%, according to a press release from the Dallas Mavericks. The increases reflect ongoing investments in team and fan engagement, the team said in a statement.
WFAA wrote
This comes on the back of recent reports that the franchise has seen a significant drop in ticket prices ever since Luka Doncic was traded away. They believe offsetting it with a near double digit hike will work well to help balance the books.
Fans shocked with Mavs latest move after Luka Doncic trade
This move by the Dallas Mavericks stunned fans. On one hand, attendance has declined ever since that blockbuster trade happened. Now, with this hike, they are handing seemingly unhappy season ticket holders with a larger bill.
Usually, whenever demands slows down, teams provide discounts to help boost sales. This hike is the opposite of that philosophy, leaving fans shaking their heads. They took to social media to vent out their frustrations. Check out examples of those comments below.

The Luka trade is making more sense. Trade a beloved player, raise tix and infuriate the fanbase. Perfect excuse to move to Vegas.

Ownership is pretty much giving the middle finger to their fans this team might not even make the playoffs

This situation can only get better if the Dallas Mavericks win an NBA title. Now, they are struggling with an injury crisis which threatens to derail that goal. Patrick Dumont and Nico Harrison can only hope that Anthony Davis and the other players return soon.
That new lineup has to then at least return to the NBA Finals to justify their new approach. However, only a title victory can help turn those unhappy fans to accept their new reality. The ownership has to work with fans to ensure the team has its support in place.
