Max Holloway couldn’t handle Ilia Topuria’s rant after the pair had their verbal altercation on social media. It all started after Holloway called out the featherweight champion at UFC 300. After that, the pair dissed each other online using Bible verses, but it didn’t stop there.

Max Holloway recently came on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where the fighter talked about Ilia Topuria’s personal text to him. Holloway revealed he was shocked to see how the Spaniard responded in an online trash-talk. ‘Blessed’ revealed he didn’t read what Topuria had to type and mocked the featherweight champion with ‘an angry girlfriend’ reference. 

This is the guy we're dealing with bro. So we had a bible verse-off on Twitter. Everybody’s saying 10-8 Holloway cause of the verse I used against him and I don't say nothing, that's all I said. And he writes like a freaking paragraph to me. I didn't even read it, that's how long it was. He writes a paragraph to me and I was just tripping out. It was like an angry girlfriend text, you know. Like my wife don't even text me like that.

Holloway is currently on the top of the world after his monumental victory at UFC 300. Not only did the fighter flatline his opponent, but he walked away with a whopping $600k award bonus. This has opened up several opportunities for the fighter, and getting back his featherweight title is definitely at the top of the list.

Ilia Topuria, on the other hand, is undefeated and has built a reputation of being a knockout artist. The pair have already verbally agreed to fight each other, and fans are excited about this match-up. However, the UFC has yet to officially announce the fight, as former champion Alexander Volkanovski is in the mix. As such, there is a lot of uncertainty around the featherweight title picture.

The featherweight champion recently spoke with Mutua Madrid and shared his ideas about fighting at the legendary football stadium Santiago Bernabeu. The fighter recently visited the stadium for an honorary kickoff and imagined fighting there.

We are aiming for the first quarter of next year. It's likely UFC Spain will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu. When I was there for the kick-off, I couldn't help but imagine and visualize the moment I would enter the octagon in such a legendary stadium
