Max Holloway began his UFC career at a tender age of 20 and with 13 years into his voyage, he has already cemented his status as a legend. Known for his thrilling wars inside the Octagon, Holloway’s high-volume striking and fearless style have long made him a fan favorite. However, despite his love for stand-up battles, the Hawaiian star has made it clear that he has no interest in joining Conor McGregor’s BKFC.

The current BMF titleholder proudly considers himself the best boxer in the UFC. During a recent KICK stream, Holloway was asked if he would ever compete in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship after his UFC career. Without hesitation, he shut down the idea, calling it a “stupid” offer and making it clear that he has no plans to step into bare-knuckle fighting.

I ain’t never going to do bare-knuckle fighting, that’s the most stupidest thing ever in the world. When I’m retired, I’m retired. Maybe do a boxing match – but not a bare-knuckle one. People who do that is next level.

McGregor’s BKFC has become one of the fastest-growing and highest-grossing promotions in the world of combat sports. Since becoming co-owner, ‘The Notorious’ has consistently promoted BKFC at every opportunity, boosting its visibility and popularity. His influence has helped the organization attract major attention and sign several notable fighters, including retired UFC legends.

Former UFC fighters such as Luke Rockhold, Thiago Alves, Eddie Alvarez, Jeremy Stephens, etc, have participated in high-profile BKFC bouts. The biggest superstar in the company is none other than former UFC fighter Mike Perry, who currently holds the ‘King of Violence’ title. Most of the fighters have been involved in brutal and bloody fights, which have raised concerns from fight fans.

Despite BKFC’s popularity, many fighters have distanced themselves due to safety concerns and frequent management disputes. Several athletes have voiced frustration over unprofessional behavior and a lack of proper organization within the promotion. Former UFC star Frankie Edgar recently blasted BKFC for cancelling his debut fight without explanation, calling their actions “shady.”

Nevertheless, McGregor remains extremely proud of BKFC and has teased a possible appearance once his UFC contract concludes. For the former double champion, a bare-knuckle showdown against Holloway would be a massive spectacle that could break records. However, the Hawaiian star appears completely uninterested in the idea, preferring to continue his legacy inside the Octagon.

Max Holloway shuts down callout from UFC featherweight

Max Holloway has long been known for his fearless attitude and willingness to fight anyone, anytime, regardless of the circumstances. Once the dominant force in the featherweight division, he successfully defended his title before eventually losing it to Alexander Volkanovski.

After suffering a brutal knockout defeat to Ilia Topuria, ‘Blessed’ chose to remain active in the lightweight division as he fought Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 in the latter’s retirement outing in Louisiana.

Now, as the reigning BMF titleholder and major pay-per-view attraction, Holloway frequently receives callouts from fighters seeking fame. Recently, he caught the attention of Jean Silva, who endured a tough loss against Diego Lopes at Noche UFC in his last outing.

Despite Silva’s bold challenge for a showdown at the upcoming White House event in June 2026, Holloway instantly dismissed the offer without hesitation.

Is he smoking d**gs? Holy s**t. Did he not see what Diego Lopes just did to him? This guy got to be trolling us bro. That (expletive) is still concussed bro.

On the other hand, Holloway received another major callout from former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira during UFC Rio. Intrigued by the challenge, the former 145lbs kingpin immediately accepted the offer verbally and expressed interest in fighting the Brazilian in March 2026.

This potential clash would mark their second encounter, with Oliveira previously losing to Holloway due to an esophageal injury years ago. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the UFC decides to greenlight this highly anticipated BMF showdown soon.
