After a statement win on Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers are now standing on the edge of glory. A 4-2 win in Game 3 saw the Dodgers take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series against New York Yankees. Six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa is now ‘hoping‘ for a sweep from the Dodgers.

The 33-year-old golfer had previously admitted that he supports the LA-based outfit. Recently, during the Zozo Championship in Japan, Homa jokingly claimed that he would be rooting for them. After the Dodgers won Game 1 with the help of Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam, Homa claimed he was happy that he decided to root for them.

Homa is also well known for being active on social media. After the Dodgers’ Game 3 win, the golfer took to his X account and stated that he was hoping tomorrow would be the last day he would root for them this year.

Although I have really enjoyed rooting for the Dodgers, I hope tomorrow is the last day I root for them this year.

Apart from this, he also showed love towards Walker Buehler. The pitcher had a strong performance in Game 3 and received several praises for his showing against the Yankees. In the same tweet, Homa wrote (Also Walker Buehler I [blue heart] u).

If the Dodgers are successful in beating the Yankees on Tuesday night, they will complete the sweep of their opponents. If this happens, then history would repeat itself 61 years later as the Dodgers did manage a sweep of their current opponents in 1963.

Max Homa calls Shohei Ohtani the ‘best baseball player’ he has ever seen

Since his debut in the MLB, Shohei Ohtani‘s stardom has continued to rise. His two-way abilities have made him one of the modern greats. In a recent interview during the Zozo Championship, Max Homa called him the ‘best baseball player‘ he has ever seen.

Though the golfer was busy with the tournament, he was happy to see his favorite team play in the World Series from Japan. He also pointed out that it was ‘cool‘ to see several L.A. hats in the Asian country due to the influence of Ohtani.

It’s really cool being here. Obviously, we have two Japanese players on the (Los Angeles) Dodgers that are tremendous. One of which is (Shohei) Ohtani, who is the best baseball player I’ve ever seen. So it’s quite cool to come here. I’ve actually seen quite a few times L.A.hats.

Max Homa said in a press conference.

Ohtani, who suffered a shoulder injury in Game 2, did play a part in Game 3. Though he has not been able to replicate the numbers of his regular season, the Dodgers have still found a way to win.

The crucial Game 4 of the World Series will start at 5:08 p.m. PT/8:08 p.m. ET with the Yankees ‘hoping‘ to spoil the wish of Homa and keep their season alive.
