Ahead of the first event of the 2025 season, Max Homa is sporting a new look. The 6-time PGA Tour winner recently signed a deal with Lululemon for his new apparel. He would later sit down for an interview and speak regarding this. In that, he also recalled a hilarious incident of being compared to NFL star Patrick Mahomes.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is considered one of the best players of this generation. His throwing and playing style has earned him lots of plaudits from fans and experts.
Max Homa once found himself being compared to Mahomes. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the American golfer was asked about what was the craziest thing he had ever seen or heard from the spectators during a tournament.
In golf tournaments, there have been several heckling from the fans. On many occasions, fans have shouted at players which has left them distracted.
While Homa claimed that there were some stories he could not tell, he recalled an incident where he was indirectly compared to Patrick Mahomes.
The incident according to Homa, took place around five years ago. During an event at the 17 hole, he would mark his ball and throw it back at his caddie, Joe Greiner. His throw seemed to have impressed a fan who would later yell “Patrick Mahoma” while reacting to this throw.
Five years ago or so, one of the many years the Chiefs have been in the Super Bowl, we were on 17 green and across the lake on the left there were some guys on lawn chairs. My caddie Joe’s on the other side of the green and I marked my ball and I chucked it to him, fairly far, it was actually an uncommonly good throw. I hit him right in the hands and some guy yelled “Patrick Mahoma!” and that one got me.

Max Homa comments on his new apparel deal with Lululemon
After representing FootJoy for several years, Max Homa and the company decided to go their separate ways this year. Following the expiration of his contract, the 34-year-old chose Lululemon as his next sponsor.

In the interview with SI, Homa claimed that his wife, Lacey Croom loves Lululemon, which makes things interesting for him.
Lululemon is one of those companies that is such a mainstay and a staple in so many people’s lives but maybe not as much in golf yet, so hopefully I can help make that progress in the right direction. My wife loves it, which also helps.

Homa will now debut this new look at the Sentry this week. He will tee up with Sahith Theegala and Tony Finau at 4:27 PM EST in this signature event of the PGA Tour.
His last victory came at the Farmers Insurance in 2023. He would be hoping to put an end to this winless run this year and collect some wins as he aims to make it to the Ryder Cup team again.
